What you can write to us about

Errors and corrections. If a result looks wrong, a figure on a guide is out of date, or a source link is broken, tell us which page you were on and what you expected to see. Screenshots help, but a short description is enough.
Questions about how the calculator works. Our Methodology page and FAQ answer most questions about the formula, the assumptions and the limits of the estimate.
Privacy requests. If you have sent us an email and want us to delete or correct it, or you have a question about our privacy policy, write to the address above.
Business and advertising enquiries. We read these, but advertising never changes what our guides say. See our editorial and advertising disclosure.

What we cannot help with

HomeEquityCalc is an educational publisher. We are not a lender and we do not originate, broker, or service loans, so we cannot approve an application, quote a rate, look up your account, or tell you what a specific lender will offer. For questions about a loan you already have, contact your lender or loan servicer directly. For general information about home equity products, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau publishes free consumer guides at consumerfinance.gov.

We also cannot give personal financial, tax, or legal advice. If a question depends on your individual circumstances, such as whether your interest is deductible on your tax return, a licensed tax professional or attorney is the right person to ask.

Please keep sensitive details out of your message

Email is not a secure channel. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, loan account numbers, passwords, or copies of loan documents. You never need them to ask us a question, and we will not ask you for them. If a message you receive claims to come from HomeEquityCalc and asks for this kind of information, do not reply to it.

What to expect

We read every message sent to the address above and reply to questions and correction reports as soon as we reasonably can. Because this is a small publisher, we cannot promise a specific response time, and we may not reply to messages that are unrelated to the site.
